From holding a drawing pencil correctly and understanding proportions to mastering rich watercolor gradients and expressive acrylic canvases, our courses cater to young beginners (5+) as well as teens developing an art portfolio.

STAGE 1 • SKETCHING & PENCIL ART

Fundamentals of Drawing & Shading

Line control, geometrical shapes, perspective lines, light source identification, hatching, cross-hatching, and realistic still-life object rendering.

STAGE 2 • WATERCOLORS

Watercolor Washes & Translucency

Wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry techniques, gradient washes, color harmony, color wheel mixing, and delicate botanical and landscape compositions.

STAGE 3 • ACRYLIC CANVAS

Canvas Art & Textures

Layering on stretched canvas, impasto techniques, palette knife blending, modern abstract art, and framing-ready finished artworks.

STAGE 4 • PASTELS & PORTRAITURE

Oil Pastels & Expressive Portraits

Blending smooth color transitions with oil pastels, face proportions, dynamic human figures, and competition-level artwork creation.

Artist Amaraa Varma

State Award Winner • Tamil Film Industry Artist • Fine Arts Mentor

Artist Amaraa Varma is the esteemed art mentor at Virupakshaa Academy. Starting his career in 1999, he completed his Diploma in Fine Arts in 2002 and worked as a distinguished Artist in the Tamil Film Industry from 2006 to 2012.

In 2015, he was awarded the prestigious Best Artist Award of the Year within the state conducted by the Tamil Nadu Government Art and Culture Department. His students actively participate and triumph in competitions across the world, speaking volumes about the standard of mentorship at the academy.
